SUWANEE, Ga. -- Following a record-breaking performance in the season opener, LeTourneau women's golf junior Kinley Pessel was named the SCAC Golfer of the Week, announced the league on Wednesday.

A junior from Marshall, Texas, Pessel collected her first collegiate tournament title at the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate. She carded a program-record 3-under, 69 in the final round and finished with a program record 3-under, 141 (72-69) for the tournament.

Pessel -- a junior transfer making her LeTourneau debut -- had four birdies on Tuesday and collected six in Monday's first round.

Her performance led LeTourneau to the team title at the tournament. The YellowJackets smashed a pair of program records. The YellowJackets shot a program-best 17-over, 305 on Tuesday to finish the 36-hole tournament with a 43-over, 619.

LeTourneau returns to action on Sept. 15-16 at the California State Intercollegiate in Ventura, Calif.
