LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Two program records were broken and five personal bests were set as LeTourneau women's track and field opened the season at the McNeese Indoor I.
Madi Williams took first in the 55-meter hurdles to set the new record time at 9.39, all while competing in her first collegiate meet.
Anna Layng recorded a 10.99 in the event, while also taking home sixth in the 400-meter run with a 1:10.31 time.
The indoor long jump program record also fell when
Victoria Wilson hit a mark of 5.08 meters (16' 8"), collecting a fifth-place finish in the event. Wilson also had a career day in the ring, recording a new personal best shot put mark of 9.89 meters (32' 5.5").
Hannah Dunster took home three top-eight finishes in her collegiate debut, placing second out of 13Â in the 200-meter run (27.39), seventh in the high jump (1.50 meters - 4'11"), and eighth in the long jump (4.93 meters - 16' 2.25").
Selah Prickett also competed in the 200-meter, finishing sixth with a 28.51. The freshman collected a top-four finish in the 55-meter dash as well (7.96).
LeTourneau's 4x400-meter relay team -- compiled of Wilson, Williams,
Felice Mullinax, and
Madelyn DeLosSantos -- earned fifth out of 10 teams with a 4:21.04 time.
Mullinax and
Alayna Galloway recorded personal best times in their individual events, with Mullinax running a 1:47.13 in the 600-meter, and Galloway garnering a 5:45.27 mile time.
The final personal record came from
Peyton Chaney, with a 12:17.08 time in the 3000-meter.
Leinaya Gay marked a 4.54-meter (14'10.75") long jump in her collegiate debut.
"The women's team opened their season very well," Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
Dillon May said about the opening meet. "It was great to have the team together, working hard and celebrating one another. I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll accomplish in Houston."

The aforementioned Houston meet is the next stop for LeTourneau, as the YellowJackets compete in the Fastrak Athletix Collegiate Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 24.
