LAKE CHARLES, La. / TOPEKA, Kan. --
Victoria Wilson set two program records at the Washburn Open and the LeTourneau women's track and field teams sent athletes to a pair of meets over the weekend. Wilson and
Madi Williams competed at the Washburn Open in Kansas on Saturday, while the rest of the team was at the McNeese Indoor II meet on Friday.
Wilson competed in the pentathlon at the Washburn Open and broke her own program record in the event with 3,139 points across the five events. The new record bested her previous record of 2,987 also set at the Washburn meet in 2023.
The senior finished 16th of 28 competitors in the field. Wilson opened the event with a program-record run in the 60-meter hurdles of 9.37 to place 12th overall. She had a high jump mark of 1.49 meters (4'10.5), shot put distance of 9.66 meters (31'8.5), and a jump of 5.05 meters (16'7) in the long jump. Wilson concluded her program-best day with an 800-meter time of 2:36.37.
Williams competed in the 60-meter hurdles at Washburn, making her debut in the indoor event, and finished with a time of 9.51.
At the McNeese meet on Friday, LeTourneau had several personal records.
Madelyn DeLosSantos and
Alayna Galloway both set personal bests in the mile run. DeLosSantos came in 12th overall with her time of 5:39.15, while Galloway was 15th at 5:42.34.
Peyton Chaney also ran a distance event as she was the lone YellowJacket in the 3,000-meter run and put up a personal-best time of 12:10.76 to finish 14th.
The 4x400 team of
Selah Prickett,
Hannah Dunster,
Felice Mullinax, and DeLosSantos came in fifth at 4:26.45. Prickett also competed in the 200-meter event and came in with a time of 28.63. Mullinax competed in the 800-meter and finished in 2:31.16.
Dunster competed in both the long jump and triple jump events. In the long jump, she finished 10th with a mark of 4.72 meters (15'6) and was sixth in the triple jump at 10.09 meters (33'1.25).
In the 400-meter,
Anna Layng had a season-best time of 1:09.63.
Allison Reade (8.23) and
Michaela Antenucci (8.26) both made their debuts in the 55-meter event.
Nat Ferdi set her personal record in the weight throw at 8.09 meters (26'6.5).
UP NEXT
