2021 All-American Southwest Conference Volleyball Teams & Awards
RICHARDSON, Texas – LeTourneau volleyball lands four YellowJackets on All-American Southwest Conference teams.
Kianna Crow, a senior outside hitter from Spring, Texas, earned First Team All-ASC honors, notching her fourth consecutive All-ASC honor.
Kaci Monk, a freshman right side out of Euless, Texas, was awarded Third Team All-ASC.
Courtney Edge, a senior libero from Carthage, Texas, earned Honorable Mention All-ASC honors. Freshman outside hitter from El Paso, Texas,
Hannah Payan, also was awarded to the Honorable Mention All-ASC team.
Crow finished the regular season hammering down 257 kills, appearing in 20 matches. Crow tallied 249 digs, ranking her second on the team in the category. Crow posted 13 double-doubles (kills and digs) on the season to lead the team. The outside hitter had a season-high 19 putaways in win over rival East Texas Baptist. Crow also totaled 17 serving aces and 12 assists throughout the regular season.
Despite missing a couple matches due to injury, Monk still managed to slam down 170 kills, putting together a .253 attack rate. Defensively, Monk had 47 rejections with 12 being solo, placing her third on the team in total blocks. The strong right side also chipped in 42 digs, while collecting six assists and five serving aces.
Edge paced the YellowJacket defense, totaling 481 digs to lead the team and the ASC in total digs. Edge has now led the ASC in total digs for the second straight season. The senior libero put together a career-high performance in digs when she had 35 in a four-set win over Sul Ross. Edge also totaled 87 assists and 23 serving aces. A key contributor to the Jacket offense, Payan finished second on the team in kills behind Crow, totaling 172. Defensively, Payan tallied 65 digs and 22 blocks, while adding four assists to cap off the regular season.
The Jackets clinched the No. 3 seed in the ASC Championships, facing off against Concordia Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Mary Hardin-Baylor.
