Mark Blessing '85 was a two-time national champion wrestler at LeTourneau. He is one of two LeTourneau student-athletes all-time to capture first place at a national championship event.

Blessing became the first YellowJacket to win an NCCAA national championship when he captured his weight class title in 1982 and followed that with another crown in 1984. He earned a third place finish at the 1983 NCCAA championships and was second at the 1985 NCCAA meet.

During his four-year career on the mat, Blessing would win his weight class in over 20 tournaments and won first place in the Texas Open Tournament three consecutive years after finishing his collegiate career (1987-89).

Blessing also served as a coach, along with being a student-athlete, in 1984 and 1985.
