The only player in program history to earn All-America honors in three straight seasons, Dunham set program records during his career. His career batting average of .405 was a program record and still holds the top spot among four-year players. He set then-program career records in doubles (35), slugging percentage (.652), and walks (95). He still holds program career records for on-base percentage (.539) and stolen bases (102).

He was also an NCCAA All-America first team selection in 1988 following a season where he set the program record with 45 stolen bases to go with a .468 batting average, .766 slugging percentage, and a .587 on-base percentage.
